Wind Storm Roof Replacement in Dublin, Ohio

A wind storm left this Dublin property with a damaged roof, siding that had pulled loose and gutters that needed replacing. Working through insurance, 614 Exteriors replaced the roof, repaired the siding and installed new gutters across the home and a large shed.

The Project

Dublin Storm Restoration Project Overview

Wind damage doesn't always look like much from the driveway. A few lifted shingles, a section of siding sitting wrong, or a gutter pulled away from the fascia can seem minor. Then the next heavy rain finds every one of those openings.

This Dublin property had two structures to deal with: the house and a large shed. After the storm, the roof needed full replacement, sections of siding had buckled, loosened and separated, and the gutters needed replacing too.

The project was handled as an insurance claim, and the full scope of roof replacement, siding repair and new gutters came to $18,000. The goal was simple: fix what the wind damaged, do it properly and leave both buildings sound and good-looking again.

After the Storm

What the Wind Storm Left Behind

Before any work started, we documented the property as it stood. Those photos are what the repair plan, and the insurance side of the job, are built on.

The Roof

Strong wind can lift and crease shingles and break the seal that holds them down. Once that happens, the roof can't shed water the way it should. This roof was damaged badly enough that replacement was the right call.

The Siding

Sections of siding had buckled, worked loose and pulled apart at the seams. Loose panels keep moving in the wind and leave gaps where water can get behind the wall.

The Gutters

Gutters sit right at the roof edge and take a beating when the wind picks up. New gutters were installed so water gets carried off the roof and away from the buildings again.

Before & After the Storm Repairs

The long side of the property shows the difference best. In the before photo, the storm damage is visible along the wall. After the roof replacement, siding repair and new gutters, the same elevation has straight lines again.

Insurance Work

Repairing Storm Damage the Right Way

On an insurance job, documentation matters. Clear photos of the damage before anything is torn off make it easier to show what the storm did and what it takes to put it back.

The repair itself shouldn't cut corners because it's an insurance claim. Damaged siding gets properly re-secured or replaced so every course lines up with the courses around it, not face-nailed over. The roof gets replaced the way any roof should be, and the new gutters are hung to carry water away from both buildings.

If your home took a hit in a storm, our storm restoration services page explains how we approach this kind of work.

“We will be here tomorrow to stand by what we do today.”

One Contractor for the Whole Storm Repair

After a storm, damage rarely stops at one part of the house. This project covered the roof, the siding and the gutters, on two buildings. Having one company handle all of it means the roof edge, gutters and siding are finished to fit each other, not left as three separate fixes.
